Fun February

Daddy was out of town on the night of the Father-Daughter Dance, so to make up for it, he took Julia out on a date when he got back! They dressed up in their finest and went to our favorite restaurant, Puttner Brau for salmon and noodles! Julia was so excited, it was very sweet.  A night to remember for them both. I love that Wally took the time to make her feel so special. She even got to take one of my small purses.  She was so proud.

Our other sweet girl, taking a rest.

This was around bedtime on a night when Daddy had worked late and had just gotten home.  These guys miss Daddy when he's not around!

Lexie started gymnastics class and is really enjoying it.  Here she is rolling over a barrel.

"I did it all by my YELF!"

Daddy came over to the gym to watch, and Lexie showed off all of her tricks.

Aiden loves his Daddy too!

Lexie talking on the phone in her classroom.

I love this silly smile :)

Several families got together and went to dinner at Puttner Brau, and Wally asked the owner Johannes if he could give us a tour of the brewery.  It was really fun, and everyone enjoyed it, even the kids!

And finally, on our way to Amberg one day, we saw this GIANT snowman and had to pull over! Poor Lexie missed out on this photo op because she was napping in her carseat!

Fasching

This month we celebrated the German holiday of Fasching, which is similar to Carnival.

Julia had a Fasching parade at school. The theme was science this year, so Julia's class represented "Sunny Days."

Here's her class, all decked out in their sunny day attire!

Julia and her amazing teacher, Mrs. Driscoll!

Aiden walked in the parade with his sister.  Notice all of the kids have bathing suits pinned to the front of their clothes :)

We also hit a Fasching parade in Eschenbach this year and met up with our friends Dale and Pam.  We had such a great time!

This was a German kindergarten class being led through by their teachers.  The ladies were giving away (and shooting!) Jell-O shots! Only in Germany! :)

Every time there was a break between floats, the kids would run out and grab candy!

This was a "Swine Flu" themed float! The pigs had shots in syringes that they were offering to shoot into people's mouths! No thank you!!!

People-watching is so entertaining...and I couldn't stop watching these girls.  They didn't care about candy or drinks, they were just laughing and having fun.

Lexie let Mrs. Pam hold her for awhile.

Haven't you ever seen a farmer, a chicken, a guy in a bathrobe, and their random friend walking down the street drinking beer?

My sweet husband braved the crowds to get drinks for me :)

This little cutie sure had fun!

But Lexie was worn out...she fell asleep about halfway through the parade, though I have no idea how! It was LOUD!

Happy Fasching, Everyone!
