Lately we've all been missing Germany. Aiden frequently says "I want to go home to Germany." He doesn't remember ever living anywhere else; he was two years old when we moved there in 2008. Lexie was only 10 months old. He's enjoying school, but the transition has been...and continues to be...a little difficult for him.
We visited the city of Lawrence, KS and managed to find a little taste of "home." A store that sells German products!
We scored German mustard (senf), spezi (a cola/orange soda mix), kinder chocolate, and more. There were other things we wanted, like Nurnburger bratwursts, but that were too expensive. I want them, but I don't want to pay $8 for a pack! :(
I miss Europe in general so much more than I thought I would. I miss seeing beautiful pieces of history everyday. I miss the weather. I miss my friends. I know I'll get used to it, but when we'll only be here for one year, it's kind of a blah feeling. Never done a one year tour before :(
Here are a few random pics of what's been going on lately:
Waiting at cheerleading practice.
Aiden with his teacher at his schools' Sonic fundraiser.
Making banana muffins :)
Looking like her sister in this one :)
We had a great day at the Kansas City Zoo. The Girl Scouts were going, so we decided to make a family day trip out of it. Lexie was exhausted and fell asleep in the car. She woke up when Wally tried to pick her up to carry her inside, and insisted she could walk in on her own. Once she did, we found her like this not two minutes later! The zoo is apparently EXHAUSTING!!
Aiden had a sick day at the beginning of the month :(
Lexie's taking gymnastics once a week.

Pajama party in Aiden's class
Our Kansas home all decorated for Halloween!
