Pink Puppy was lost at the PX last night, and we can't find her anywhere. No other lovey will do. My mom sent Lexie a different one a few months ago; it's very soft and snuggly in brown, green and white. The verdict? We give it to Lexie, she looks at it in disgust and chucks it on the floor. She actually slept okay last night, but was up at the crack of dawn and seems restless. She has a soft pink rabbit lovey that we also tried giving her, but it was met with the same disgust as the soft snuggly blanket. With two teeth coming in, it was not a good time to lose Pink Puppy. (She actually lost it with Daddy, as I was at HSM3 with Julia, but we're pretending that doesn't matter!:)
So what's a mom to do? I got on the computer last night and Googled all the key words I could think of "pink poodle lovey blanket baby." The VERY FIRST thing that came up was an ebay link so clicked on it, and there was Pink Puppy!! She was $25 and listed as from a company called "Angel Dear." (It occurred to me that in all this time I never looked at Pink Puppy's tag!) After some research, I found Pink Puppy for a more reasonable price, so I ordered 2 right away!! I am so stoked to have found a replacement!
It's heartbreaking for your child to lose their security object! Julia has had her soft babydoll, Annie, since before she was born, but she just sleeps with it, she never carried it around with her. Between Lexie and Aiden, I'm in a constant state of "Where's Mee Mee? Where's Pink Puppy?" Mee-Mee, for those who don't know, is Aiden's fleece security blanket. It's navy blue, covered in trucks, and has already been cut in half to make 2. He's been sleeping with it since he was about 6 or 7 months old. We thought we lost Mee Mee in Prague once, and I literally thought I was going to cry. We didn't have the second half with us, and there's no way Aiden will sleep without Mee-Mee. Luckily we found it, but now I'm thinking I'd better start trying to find that pattern of fleece in case we need to replace one (or both) halves at some point.
Now we're stuck waiting on our package of Pink Puppies. Only standard delivery was available so who knows how long it will take? It's probably a good thing that the company didn't offer express....I wouldn't have been able to resist and it probably would've cost a fortune!
Keep your fingers crossed that our Pink Puppy-less days pass quickly!!

Poor Lexie, hoping Pink Puppy gets their quickly. I so understand the skips your heart does when you think you may have lost a lovey. I have 5 replacements of the same lovey for Alex, shhh don't tell Eric :)
Ohhhh!!!!!...I remember those days. I ran out and bought every pacifier in G-ville the night jaime's favorite one got a hole in it. The one she liked came in a gift basket, and could not be found in a store ANYWHERE!!! And of course this happened the same day she got her immunizations so she was cranky anyway. We ended up with about 12-15 different ones. She was also very disgusted (just as you described Lexie) but finally was able to settle on one that could only be found at Kash-N-Karry. So I went back and bought the whole lot. We're mothers...what can we say?:) If I had a Pink Puppy, I would express it to you! :) Good Luck! ~cindy
